Hoyin is a New York-based Product Designer originally from Hong Kong. He specializes in crafting user-focused and accessible products by exploring and defining data-driven user experiences that significantly impact user satisfaction and business growth. His process seamlessly weaves together information architecture, scalable design systems, and inventive brand elements. Senior Product Designer @ Braze
2019—PRESENT

Hoyin’s tenure at Braze was marked by a commitment to strategic design leadership and impactful product contributions. He initiated and facilitated a two-day Design Sprint workshop, successfully cultivating stakeholder collaboration and developing actionable solutions (i.e., Canvas Templates). A key part of his role involved actively shaping the team's annual strategy, introducing innovative ideas, identifying new opportunities, and providing crucial design feedback, ultimately solidifying strategic direction through visionary prototypes and productive engagement with Engineering.

He guided the design of a sophisticated yet intuitive user experience for Canvas, Braze's marketing journey builder, which empowered marketers to create high-impact customer journeys. This involved seamless collaboration across Product, UX Research, Engineering, and Design teams. Beyond product-specific work, he elevated overall design quality through meticulous attention to detail and substantial contributions to the core design system, streamlining engineering workflows by providing clear specifications. His user-centric approach was evident in proactively identifying pain points via user research, validating designs, and successfully championing hackathon ideas that moved into production. He further enhanced user experience by proposing and implementing a data retention policy that optimized system performance, which included designing a user-friendly notification system, and by integrating key features like Version History and Post-Launch Editing into Canvas, significantly boosting marketer efficiency.

Drove brand consistency for Facebook's Enterprise Engineering team by designing and maintaining a wide range of brand assets, from growth campaign materials to in-product illustrations and presentations.


User Experience Designer @ DocuSign
2016—2018

Spearheaded the design of DocuSign's next-gen UI, improving user efficiency for digital transactions (i.e., tagger navigation and simplified sending experience). Leveraging my design skills in the creative marketing fellowship, I crafted compelling materials for the Momentum conference, including its website for post-event access.



Visual Designer @ SAP
2015—2016

Worked alongside UX designers, researchers, and the design director to craft Splash, an effective and educational enterprise tool for both web and mobile, while also shaping its unique brand identity.

Splash received an Honorable Mention in UXAward in 2015 and was shortlisted for the IxDA Interaction Award in 2016.

Partnered with the Email team to overhaul the existing Email Template library, developing a comprehensive template vision to ensure consistency and enhance user experience across the entire platform.

Initiated and led a team of engineers to develop “Canvas Shareable Link,” a solution empowering marketers with simple, secure, and accessible URLs for Canvas content. This significantly streamlines stakeholder review, eliminating the need for account creation.

Partnered up with an Engineer to improve product performance (i.e., loading) by reducing the number of campaigns that are no longer needed for our customers.
